Tele2, the Swedish telecoms operator, is trying to get rid of hedge funds hampering its takeover of Holland’s Versatel it by giving them what they want. Hedge funds led by Centaurus which own more than 10% of Versatel have claimed that Tele2 isn’t paying up for the synergies it will get from, the merger, and therefore want to keep the Dutch group listed. Tele2 plans to give them just that.
