UK voters have lost faith in Gordon Brown – or so say a string of recent opinion polls. Faced with a slight dip in house prices and the scrapping of a raft of irresponsible mortgage deals, Britain is in the grip of panic and the government is on the ropes. The UK prime minister is less trusted than any other major western leader to deal with the financial crisis, according to a poll in the Financial Times: 68% of respondents saying they have “no confidence” in him at all.
