Since the World Trade Center atrocity, many warned a terrorist attack on London was inevitable. Appallingly, the inevitable has occurred. The day after the city was awarded the 2012 Olympic Games, and as leaders of the world’s most industrialised nations met in Scotland, a series of bombs tore through London’s public transport network. Early estimates of casualties suggest at least 45 dead and 1,000 injured.
