Rhodia is a set of lawsuits dressed up as a chemical group. The troubled French group is going to find it hard to pay back its E1.9bn debt with the cash flows from its chemical business. But there is a bright spot in the shape of two lawsuits – particularly a E2.9bn one brought on its behalf by Hugues de Lasteyrie a private investor.
Rhodia fought off liquidity concerns. But its refinanced debt still weighs heavy. Plans to cut costs and make disposals aren’t sufficient.
