Clearly some petrodollars are more acceptable than others. Europe shrieked when a Russian state-owned bank bought 5% of Eads, even though Moscow is supposedly a western ally. But when an Arab state-owned fund suggested that it might buy a stake in the aerospace group, almost nobody batted an eyelid. Money, it seems, is not blind after-all.
