Greed & Fear Koizumi throws open Pandora’s box

A jetlagged GREED & fear has been stumbling around Tokyo this week. The timing has been convenient because of the drama of the Upper House’s rejection of the post-office privatisation bill by a surprisingly large margin, with a majority of 125 to 108, followed by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi’s immediate decision to dissolve the legislature and call a general election which is due to be held on September 11th 2001.
