Google is making some of the same mistakes that doomed scruffy start-up Napster nearly a decade ago. It has used its position as the internet’s 800-pound gorilla to take a hard line in negotiations with the television industry over YouTube. If it doesn’t start cutting deals, it may be swamped with copyright infringement lawsuits. And it could squander YouTube’s advantage in internet video over fleeter-footed rivals that can learn from its mistakes - much like lessons from Napster’s meltdown guid...
