Germany Lost momentum

Angela Merkel could do with some better friends. The leader of Germany’s CDU party was coasting towards victory in the planned September 18 election. But her coalition has spent more time squabbling than campaigning. Merkel’s popularity has fallen so far that the most recent opinion polls suggest a hung parliament.
