Ebay: still worth a bid

Ebay just can’t buy a break. Prior to earnings, the online auctioneer’s stock was down 55% over the past year as investors fretted and the volume of auctions dropped the past few quarters. Now they’re panicking because the company expects negative revenue growth next quarter, sending the stock down 10% in early trading. That’s no shocker – consumers buy less during recessions.
