It’s 3 Italia o’clock again. Talk that the Italian mobile business is close to being sold by its Hong Kong owner, Hutchison Whampoa, comes round regularly. This time Deutsche Telekom, the German telecoms operator, is the suitor, according to reports. The head of DT’s mobile business, Hamid Akhavan, stoked the rumours by reportedly voicing an interest in the business. But Hutch may have to lower its sights to get DT on the hook.
